On April 1, 2011, Disney XD will debut its newest animated series, Ultimate Spider-Man, starring Drake Bell as Peter Parker / Spiderman. Acting as the keystone of the Marvel Universe block, "Ultimate Spider-Man" features a teenage Peter Parker juggling the typical growing pains of high-school with the not-so-typical growing pains of being a super hero. Drake Talks About Terrific with MTV News

Drake recently sat down with MTVNews to talk briefly about shooting the original music video for Terrific as well as the song's popularity.

Drake is hard at work on his next album and since he doesn't really know when that will drop, he wanted his fans to have something to hold them over. "That's why I released the EP. I've been writing so much, but I haven’t had any time to actual sit down in a studio and construct an entire record. I realized I hadn’t put out a record for quite some time, so I felt like I was robbing the fans," he said. "I got to get them something, so I had enough time to get in there and do these four tunes and these four songs were the most different from the stuff that I'm writing now .I wanted to get those songs out cause I loved those songs."

GreenhouseUSA TV talks with Drake about Turning 25 Plus Footage From His Birthday Party

Drake owns a lot of prada! Besides talking fashion, he also talks about looking younger than he is, having to be asked for id, and wanting to be known as an Entertainer. At about 1:21 there's 12 minutes worth of footage from his birthday party, including his rock and roll covers of Brand New Cadillac and Little Miss Pretty, Drake and his cake, and random partygoers dancing and drinking. Be warned, Drake throws out a few curse words. If you are under 18 or aren't into watching the partying/clubbing, you probably shouldn't watch past 6:20

Recap of Drake's GOOM Radio Interview

So I didn't know about this interview beforehand, so I couldn't record it and I got there 45 minutes into it (after some kind of banter with Thomas Scrivven). However I did take some notes on what I heard:

Fairly OddMovie: Grow Up Timmy Turner

  • The dad in the movie is played by the same actor who voices the cartoon character
  • The kids in the classroom scene were questioning if the actor who played Crocker was the cartoon character. The actor was just that perfect.
  • The first two actors who auditioned were for the parts of Crocker and Jorgan. They were so on point that creator Butch Hartman became less stressed about casting
  • Jason Alexander (who plays Cosmo) worked with both Drake and Daniella Monet (Tootie) in the past. Daniella played Jason's daughter in some movie. And Drake played in an episode near the end of the Seinfeld series.
  • While talking about the Crocker character, Drake was doing impressions of him, and he wasn't bad!
  • Drake thought one of the promos for the movie was surreal, seeing the Timmy Turner character magically turn into himself.

Drake and Josh

  • Drake was a part of the initial Amanda Show cast and Josh Peck joined 2nd season. Dan Schneider (the creator) was noticing how well the two worked together. At one point there was a scene where Drake and Josh were fighting over a shrimp that fell from the ceiling. This scene inspired the Drake and Josh series, and ironically enough the same scene aired during the last scene of the series finale.
  • Drake enjoyed working with Dan Schneider since he's different than other creators. Dan stays on set throughout the entire filiming. He is more devoted than others.
  • The DJ was quoting lines from the episode and Drake was appreciative of the fact that he was a big fan

Ragz

  • The movie is a hip-hop fairytale / Cinderella story from a boy's point of view
  • Drake plays opposite a new actor named Matt Schneider
  • Drake was talking with producers of the Fairly OddParents Movie and they talked about the role. Shooting in Vancouver is what really enticed him to do the movie.
  • Drake plays the part of a studio engineer who discovers a janitor with incredible musical talent

Getting Recognized

  • It doesn't bother Drake that he gets recognized mostly for his role in Drake and Josh. He's not obsessed with trying to break away from that kid actor / Nickelodeon perception
  • Writing music has never been affected by the fanbase
  • He wrote Finally Falling for Victorious and would enjoy writing songs for other artists in the future
  • He and his old bandmates produced the theme song of Zoey 101 and (as we know) wrote the Drake and Josh theme song
  • The DJ asked him what it's like to be loved by everyone. His response: I'm not really sure.

Thoughts on a Drake and Josh Reunion

  • He would do it tomorrow; It would be like the Beatles getting back together.
  • Dan Schneider loves Drake and Josh, and it was his very first TV Show self-produced by Scheider's Bakery (his previous Nick shows were produced under Tollins and Robbins)
  • The Drake and Josh Christmas Movie was sort of a reunion from them. Dan was thinking one day that they never did a Christmas episode of Drake and Josh, even though Drake had suggested it a thousand times since Christmas is his favorite holiday
  • Drake says fans on Twitter are still asking about when Drake and Josh is going to come back

Being an Actor

  • The DJ was quoting Drake's "That is not my job!" line from the Helen's Surgery episode of Drake and Josh, to which Drake remarked "That's awesome, you really do watch the show!"
  • The scene where they were eating shrimp puffs (Drake did not remember the name of this food in the interview) in the hot tub took an entire day to shoot. So the water went from clear to dark gray by the end of the day and there were food particles floating around. Most of the time he was sitting there thinking "Oh my god get me out of here!"
  • During Superhero Movie, they sometimes worked 22-hour days and the rainy scenes were pretty grueling for him. However when he watched the final product, he forgot about how bad it felt and it ended up being worth it
  • The job of an actor can be grueling, but being able to work in all kinds of cool places pays off; He says "I'm in Romania! ... There's all these castles ... Why am I complaining about my job?"

His Gramps Tattoo

  • He wants to get this one removed
  • He got it at the end of the day when the artist didn't have any color left and only outlined it. Drake said it was the most painful tattoo experience and never ended up going back to get it finished, so all there is is an outline.
  • Removal hurts ten times worse than getting it since they have to go in with a laser and burn it off, but it only takes about 30 seconds and is worth the pain

He also mentioned something about writing 50% and producing 20%, but I'm not sure if he was talking about the third album or A Reminder EP

New Drake Interview with El Universal on Glee, His Record, Fairly OddMovie, and Ragz

In a recent phone interview with Mexico's El Universal, Drake talks about how he's not a big fan of Glee, what he wants to accomplish with his third album, the reason for cancelling the Juarez concert, acting with cardboard fairies, and his role in Ragz.

I do not want Glee do one of my songs, I think it's bad. Take those great songs, these big issues and make sound without a spark...I do not know could hurt the music industry, but it hurts my ears to hear a song I grew to love, sung by what looks like a group of kids screaming...

During his musical break Bell also filmed a new adaptation of Cinderella in another role related to the magic. "I play the fairy godmother, although not a fairy tale. The story is about a boy who wants to be a musician, a rockstar and I I play a producer who appears at times to make sure everything is well with him, "he said about the film slated for 2012.

Drake Bell Will Self-Release an EP Called "A Reminder"

According to AOL, Drake is releasing an EP called "A Reminder" on June 28 with the single, "Teriffic" dropping on June 14! In addition to the single, the EP will include You're Not Thinking, Big Shot, and Speak My Mind.

Speaking on why he chose to self-release an EP at this time, Bell says, “I have so much going on right now with my acting, and a full album will probably not happen until next year. I wanted to release these four tracks for my fans. They haven’t had new music for a while.”

Fans will hear a more mature Bell on the EP’s first track, “Terrific.” “The song is really about calling someone out on not being themselves,” said Bell. “People growing up and trying to fit into different scenes, getting into different things that aren’t necessarily good for them or who they are. Trying to be someone that they’re not, and maybe shouldn’t be, and watching that happen right before your eyes," he added.

Pop Sugar UK Interview

In addition to performing in London, Drake also got interviewed by PopSugar UK. In it, he talks about music, tattoos, dream projects, and his interest in fashion:

...You have two different audiences that somewhat cross over - one from Drake & Josh, and one as a songwriter, musician and actor. When you write your music do you keep that in mind, or do you just write for yourself? I have always written for myself, there's nothing I'd steer away from in my music to keep the appeal to younger fans - I'm the same person for each audience.... You work in a lot of different fields already, but is there anything else you'd like to branch out into? Fashion and becoming an author... I am working on things in both areas.
